The handbuilt tetrapod pier that tames the Barents Sea

Berlevåg's iconic pier is a free landmark and the very reason the fishing village exists. The enormous breakwater shields the harbor from the Barents Sea's storms, and furthest toward open water lie layers upon layers of four-legged concrete tetrapods. The pier gained worldwide recognition through the short film Heftig og begeistret.

Arctic Glasstudio is the glass workshop and shop of Swiss-born artist Daniela Salathé. In the heart of Berlevåg, she creates handmade glass art inspired by the Arctic landscape, and visitors can watch the art being made and shop in the gallery.
