The hand-built tetrapod pier that tames the Barents Sea

Berlevåg's iconic pier is a free landmark and the very reason the fishing village exists. The enormous breakwater shields the harbor from the Barents Sea's storms, and layered with four-legged concrete tetrapods facing open water. The pier became world-famous through the choir film Hefty and Enthusiastic.
