The hand-built tetrapod pier that tames the Barents Sea

Berlevåg's iconic pier is a free landmark and the very reason the fishing village exists. The enormous breakwater shields the harbor from the Barents Sea's storms, and layered against the open sea are rows upon rows of four-legged concrete tetrapods. The pier became world-famous through the short film Heftig og begeistret.
