The hand-built tetrapod pier that tames the Barents Sea

Berlevåg's iconic pier is a free landmark and the very reason the fishing village exists. The enormous breakwater shields the harbor from the Barents Sea's storms, and layered with four-legged concrete tetrapods facing open water. The pier became world-famous through the choir film Hefty and Enthusiastic.

Arctic Glasstudio is the glass workshop and shop of Swiss-born artist Daniela Salathé. In the heart of Berlevåg, she creates handmade glass art inspired by the Arctic landscape, and visitors can watch the art being created and shop in the exhibition.
