Where the sea meets Berlevågs story
Berlevåg Harbor Museum is located at the inner harbor in Berlevåg and tells the story of coastal culture, fishing, Pomor trade, Sámi maritime culture and the war years. The museum's heart is the history of the demanding breakwater construction, which ran from 1913 until 1974. After the sea repeatedly destroyed the stone blocks, the solution became over 11,000 four-legged concrete tetrapods that dampen wave force – today the very symbol of Berlevåg.
