About Arctic Challenge Varanger
Arctic Challenge Varanger AS is based in Vestre Jakobselv in Varanger, far north in Finnmark. The core of the offering is dog sledding – in small groups with genuine sled dogs and experienced mushers – far away from mass tourism. You can choose everything from a short Discovery Ride of around 4 km and a day trip of approximately 20 km where you drive your own team, to a two-day micro-expedition with overnight stay in a mountain cabin and a seven-day Arctic Challenge expedition. Guests learn to harness, hitch and care for the dogs – a genuine mushing experience. In winter the trips are supplemented with snowshoeing, ice fishing, ski driving and snowmobile, often with a chance to see the northern lights. The company operates a remote mountain cabin as a base and offers hiking with huskies and fishing trips in summer. Arctic Challenge Varanger AS was founded in 2025 and is located in Tana municipality.
