Meet the reindeer and Sámi culture up close
Giron siida is an authentic Sámi experience in Varangerbotn in Nesseby, operated by Ragne Kristine Smuk who grew up in a Sámi reindeer herding family. In 2014, she established a refuge for reindeer from her family's herd that needed extra care. Today she welcomes guests who want to meet the reindeer closely, feed the animals by hand, gather around the fire, and hear stories that provide intimate insight into Sámi culture and way of life. The experience is suitable for both adults and children and follows animal welfare guidelines.
