Dog sledding on the Varangerhalvøya Peninsula beyond the Arctic Circle
Nanouak Dogsledding Norway is a dog sledding enterprise with a kennel just above the village of Nesseby (Burnes), high above Varangerfjorden at the 70th parallel. The business has been established in Norway for over eight years and has around 30 dogs. Guests drive their own team after an introduction to how to handle and steer the dogs, and the tours go across the wilderness and into the national park with information about the ecosystem along the way. The offer includes day tours, multi-day tours, snowshoeing, ice fishing, reindeer observation and northern lights experiences. Tours are suitable for children from 8 years old, and the winter season runs from December 1st to April 30th. Tours can be booked online via CheckYeti.
