We are thrilled to present this: Varanger Night is an entirely new concept at Varangerfestivalen – a dedicated concert evening before the festival week kicks off in full. On Wednesday, August 5th, we offer two exceptional concerts, ranging from the beautiful and tranquil to the grand big band celebration. Varanger Night requires a separate ticket and is not included in the festival pass – but the price is reasonable, and even more so for those who have secured a festival pass as well. Vadsø Storband launches its largest project to date – a musical and visual tribute to one of the world's most iconic rock artists: Tina Turner. On stage are Christine Meyer (vocals) and Geir Langslet (keyboards and musical director), both with several years of experience from the Simply the Best tour. Langslet is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and has served as conductor for NRK – among other things five times during the Melodi Grand Prix. Also on the team are two choir singers, and the entire Vadsø Storband in full lineup under the direction of Asbjørn Ruud. This will be a celebration. Doors open at 20:00.
