Varanger Night: Ine & Edvard Hoem - Alt vi har kjĂŚrt -
We are delighted to present this: Varanger Night is a brand new concept at Varangerfestivalen â a dedicated concert evening before the festival week kicks off in full. On Wednesday, August 5th, we offer three exceptional concerts, ranging from the beautiful and serene to the grand big band celebration.
Varanger Night requires a separate ticket and is not included in the festival pass â but the price is reasonable, and even more favorable for those who have secured a festival pass as well.
Father and daughter Hoem have both achieved great success in their respective fields. Edvard Hoem has delighted readers throughout Norway across several generations, among other things with novels about his ancestors who emigrated to America, and Ine Hoem has achieved great success with her tasteful singer-songwriter pop featuring songs such as I Will Never Go Home and We Do Not Need a Garden.
The musical collaboration between father and daughter Hoem began more than fifteen years ago, but became publicly known through the beautiful reinterpretation and version of O, Blessed Night in autumn 2020, which was among other things performed on NRK Lindmo in December 2020.
This will be a rare concert experience where Ine sings her father's texts masterfully, while Edvard Hoem reads from his latest novel The Feather Maker and his other emigrant novels. Ine also sings some of her most well-known songs. The interplay between father and daughter should be experienced, where humor, seriousness, music and text unite into a higher whole.
Doors open at 18:30.
