# Meet Russia Face to Face at Treriksrøysa Trieriksrøysa in Pasvikdalen is a fascinating hike with a unique character. You walk along the border path towards Russia for approximately 5 kilometers through well-marked terrain – a relatively easy stretch until the last few hundred meters. Here you will encounter rocky challenging conditions and some elevation gain, or you can choose the easier border path (but respect the border!). Along the way you will likely meet friendly border guards who convey the uniqueness of the border region – this is the hike's true essence. The top rewards you with views over the treetops and border paths in three directions, as well as meetings with border guards. From here you can return, or continue deeper into the Finnish and Norwegian forests. A hike that is as much about people and borders as it is about nature.
