# Brashamna — Paddling Paradise in Kjøfjorden Dream of paddling along a northern Norwegian coastline? Brashamna in Kjøfjorden is the classic destination for all boat and kayak enthusiasts in Sør-Varanger. Here awaits a sheltered harbor, fantastic swimming beach and steep cliffs that cut dramatically against Varangerfjorden. From Brashamna you can paddle along a spectacular coastline — past Skogerøya, through Revøysund or further towards Bugøyfjord. The west side of the fjord is steep and landing can be tricky, and watch out for local strong winds that can appear suddenly. **Tips:** Calculate the tidal flow carefully — the current through Kjøfjorden is powerful, and from Buholmen the trip can become surprisingly long if you miss the timing. Brashamna is one of 14 "paddling pearls" that Sør-Varanger Turlag and Finnmark Friluftsråd have marked out.
