# Hiking to Fjorden: A Classic Walk on Foot This moderate hike conveniently starts from Circle K or Polar Hotell and takes you through the heart of Varanger. You follow Fylkesveg 891 inland along Neptundalselven, passing known landmarks such as Barents Skipsservice and Haabet, before reaching the valley crossing. Here you turn south over Strømmen bridge and head towards the fjord. The path takes you up the hill and further along Solheimsvegen to the outermost point, before you follow the asphalt towards Perelven. The reward? A lovely grilling spot by the river where you can take a break and enjoy the view. The entire route runs on sidewalks and roads, so it is perfect for everyone. The blue rating is due to the length – a genuine classic for both locals and visitors.
