Open in Komoot →# Stangnestind – The Top of Varanger Want to experience the highest point of Varangerhalvøya? Stangnestind at 725 meters awaits at the mouth of Tanaelva, where the view on clear days is absolutely fabulous. The hike is demanding – you will feel the lactic acid in your legs – but not technically difficult. You won't need climbing skills and instead get a solid fitness test with good elevation gain. Along the way through the nature reserve, you meet abundant birdlife and wildlife in an area that is very scenic. From the summit, panoramic views reveal themselves in all directions. A classic northern Norwegian mountain experience that rewards your effort.
