When the current flows inward, the north side by the house is the safest route. When it flows outward, you head to the south side. But the reward? Seals roaming inside the bay, fantastic fishing when the current turns inward, and crabs to pick on the outside in spring. Not least: the hike across to Nordleivågen, where families from wartime disappeared into the silence. This is paddling with respect for nature.
