# Rødberget – A Spectacular Peak in Tana Dreaming of a view that takes your breath away? Rødberget at the mouth of Tanaelv delivers exactly that. From a height of 248 meters, the mountain drops dramatically down towards Birkestrand – spectacular and a bit scary, to be honest. The hike starts pleasantly on a tractor road, but wait until you reach Klokkarskaret. Here the path becomes steeper, and you notice that this has been an important route of passage through the ages. The old trails still work well, even though you have to wade across a small stream halfway (yes, you'll get your feet wet). From the starting point it's approximately 2 kilometers up to the summit. The trail is unmarked and requires some navigation, but the reward? One of the finest views of the Tana mouth. This is not a hike for the faint of heart – but for those who can handle a little adrenaline rush.
