There rises a monumental geometry of driftwood and building remnants – Drakkar, springing from the ground like a frozen cry to history. This artwork is no ordinary sculpture. It is a floating fusion: the powers of Viking ships, the primordial strength of dinosaurs, and the whale rising against the vault of heaven. The artists from Arkhangelsk have named it Drakkar – after the fearsome Viking ships that once sailed with over twenty oarsmen. Here, on this remarkable headland, the past comes alive.
