# Hiking Trail to Hamnevatnet Start at Båtsfjord Idrettshall and let yourself be tempted northwards past the small and charming Lillevatnet. Soon a proper climb awaits – a steep slope that gives your legs something to work with! As you approach Hamnefjell, you follow the road towards Hamnefjell Vindpark. Here and now the view opens up gradually. Continue on the same route until Hamnevatnet appears on your left side – the reward for your effort. This is a moderate hike that should not be underestimated. The steep start and the length of the round trip require some fitness. Good news for winter hikers: large sections of the trail will be compacted by machine when the snow comes. A classic Varanger hike!
