# Lyngberget – A gem above Kirkenes The trail to Lyngberget is a classic that deserves a place on your list. Start at Ytre Lid on Jakobsnes and follow the gravel road upward toward NRK's transmission mast at the top. Just 40–50 minutes, and the view rewards you generously: Bøkfjorden, Kirkeneshalvøya, Reinøya and all the way to Øretoppen stretch out beneath you. The path is wide and nice – perfect with a stroller if you want. Halfway there is a cozy viewpoint with tables and chairs. Kirkenes harbor and prestøya glitter below. **Practical:** Park at the community center or starting point. Respect private property. In winter you should expect snow – the road is not plowed daily. But that just makes the hike more exciting.
