About Varanger Saunafestival
Varanger sauna festival showcases the Kvens and Finnish sauna tradition in Varanger. The festival was held for the first time in 2024 and offers sauna tours to saunas including at Varangertunet, in Vardø and Bugøynes, as well as public bathing facilities in Ytrebyen in Vadsø. It was during the festivals first edition that the national sauna day was marked in Vadsø, and the city was named Norways sauna capital. The festival brings sauna enthusiasts together around sauna culture at Varangerfjorden.
